Environmental Scientist

Department: MA-Environmental
Location: Watertown, MA

Environmental Scientist - Remediation

VHB has an immediate need for an entry-level environmental scientist or geologist with 0-2 years of experience for its Remediation, Assessment and Compliance (RACG) practice based out of the Watertown, MA company headquarters.

  • Field Sampling and Monitoring
  • Observe and Document Drilling Activities (Soil Borings and Monitoring Well Installation)
  • Conduct and Document Research at State and Municipal Agencies
  • Conduct Site Investigations including ASTM Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Provide Field Support and Documentation of Remediation Projects
  • Write Technical Reports, Correspondence, Notes and Memorandums


  • Successful candidate will have 0-2 years of professional experience.
  • Candidates must have a BS or AS degree in environmental or related science.
  • Working knowledge of the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) and associated MassDEP guidance documents a plus.
  • Proven skills to conduct environmental field work including sampling and data collection a plus.
  • Position will require trainings to work in the field including OSHA 10-Hour Construction and 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training.
  • Ability to work in field and office settings.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Motivated and ability to problem solve and work independently.
