Senior Technical Advisor - Transit & Rail

Department: Connecticut
Location: Wethersfield, CT

VHB, a nationally recognized leader in design, is seeking a contract/on-call Senior Technical Advisor to join our growing Transit & Rail practice in our Wethersfield, CT office.

VHBs passionate professionals include engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with public and private clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.

Together, we work to improve mobility, enhance communities and economic vitality, and balance development and infrastructure needs with environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on oversight of operations of transit & rail lines: training, facility upkeep, workforce welfare, CBA compliance, and regulatory compliance
  • Fleet reliability, mod programs, repeat rail car failure analysis etc.
  • Equipment inspection and evaluation of diesel/coach fleet
  • Initial inspection and failure analysis of R&R material

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Excellent attention to detail

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma
  • 15+ years of professional mechanical/maintenance/inspection experience of commuter rail fleets
