Senior Project Scheduler

VHB is GROWING! The New York City office is seeking a Senior Project Scheduler to join their Transportation team. In this position, you will coordinate with project teams and help them build and maintain project schedules, manage progress, and mitigate delays. You will also work with the estimating team producing construction schedules for new pursuits and proposals. Primavera P6 is the primary scheduling tool and will be used to perform critical path analysis, measure progress, monitor cost and resources, and performed earned value analysis.




  • Review project drawings, project scope and estimates
  • Interface with estimating, project managers, operations, and subcontractors to obtain project executive plans, discuss impact of work and participate in corrective action proposals for timely completion
  • Provide planning support to the estimating and project management team
  • Produce project control reports, trend analysis, forecasts and cost projections
  • Produce Time Impact Analysis and Forensic Schedule Analysis
  • Update project schedule, monitor progress, and compare the updates to the baseline to report progress
  • Contribute to the development of working schedules for Estimating, prior to proposal date, which sufficiently illustrate the sequence of work activities and contract time
  • Prepare and issue proposal and preliminary schedule
  • Incorporate Resource and/or Cost Loading data into schedules as required
  • Consult the appropriate project team members and estimating procedures as a means of ensuring that proper planning is completed prior to the commencement of work
  • Serve as technical advisor for the solution of difficult production problems
  • Analyze project schedule issues and propose corrective actions for timely completion of the project
  • Provide information as needed on the content, modification, or presentation of project schedule
  • Identify scheduling software training needs among employees and provide training when necessary; remain current on the advancements in scheduling software
  • Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing training skills in order to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity
  • Understand all contract requirements relating to the project schedule
  • Prepare schedule updates along with a narrative for submission to the owner
  • Prepare time impact analysis for any owner caused delays
  • Attend management, project team and client meetings as required providing the necessary project control reports



  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 6 years scheduling experience
  • Previous experience producing and maintaining construction schedules for a general contractor, specifically a heavy civil contractor, is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6
  • Experienced in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and staff
  • Detail-oriented and client focused
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
