Who you are

The Benefits Administrator supports VHBs benefits administration functions, acting as a subject matter expert on all benefit plans offered to VHBs team of 1,600+ employees and liaising with benefit vendors on behalf of the company. This position helps design and administer all employee benefit programs, providing excellent customer service support to VHB employees and outside vendors. The Benefits Administrator will coordinate all benefit enrollments, terminations, and post-employment benefit offerings. Additionally, the Benefits Administrator partners with VHBs outside vendor to coordinate employee LOAs and disability claims. This position also researches, analyzes and resolves employee benefit-related issues.

The Benefits Administrator evaluates and revises internal processes to help reduce costs and increase efficiencies, gathers employee data and oversees the processing of monthly billings for all group plans. This position helps maintain employee benefits files and updates employee payroll records. The Benefits Administrator is also responsible for staying up to date on applicable legal and regulatory changes, updates to internal policy and processes, and new system functionality.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field, or the equivalent in education and/or related experience
  • 5+ years experience working in an HR or Benefits team environment administering benefit programs, utilizing technology to support value added benefit and employee programs
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of general benefits administration, including common state and federal regulations surrounding FMLA, HIPAA, PPACA (ACA), ERISA and IRS regulations
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other business applications
  • Strong knowledge of HR systems (e.g. UltiPro, BenefitsPrime etc.) preferred
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to conduct research, organize, analyze data and formulate recommendations, and to create and promote programs
  • In-depth knowledge of related laws, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and managers of all levels
  • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
